My goal was to create something out of the ordinary, visually striking, and a story that would resonate with a very specific audience.
Iris is a stay-at-home wife of her mobster husband, Leo, who is constantly out of the house, working. While Leo is gone, Iris is left alone with her imagination, in which she personifies the thing she admires most, the moon, into a beautiful woman, Selena. Leo informs Iris that he must go on a work trip for a week. In that time, Iris finds herself falling deeply in love with Selena, however, Selena deems Iris’s loyalty to Leo important and faces Iris with an ultimatum. Iris must choose what she wants most, a life with Selena, or with Leo.
La Luna Enamorada has been awarded the Media Arts Film Festival Award for Best Senior Capstone Fiction Film.
